Rick Ross Arrested, and Tia Kemp Has Entered the Chat: She Does Not Believe the Allegations

Okay, Tia Kemp has officially entered the chat, and in a plot twist nobody saw coming, she is defending Rick Ross.

Yes, that Tia Kemp.

The woman who has spent years telling the internet everything except the combination to Rick Ross’s safe is now saying she does not believe the domestic violence allegations against him.

When Tia Kemp becomes the voice saying, “Wait a minute, let’s hear him out,” you already know this story has taken an unexpected turn.

But before we enter the internet courtroom, let’s discuss what reportedly happened.

The Arrest and Allegations

Rick Ross, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts II, was arrested in Miami Beach on October 1. He faces one felony charge of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor battery charge connected to an alleged domestic violence incident at his Star Island mansion.

According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged incident happened on August 28.

A woman who said she had been in a relationship with Ross for approximately one year and was living with him claimed he became angry after seeing her tagged in a picture on Instagram.

Authorities say the woman alleged that Ross questioned her about the picture, repeatedly struck her, grabbed and twisted the collar of her hoodie until she could not breathe, pulled her by the ponytail, pushed her against a wall and injured her lip.

The woman reportedly provided detectives with photographs of her injuries. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage that allegedly showed a friend arriving at the property to pick her up and being turned away.

The incident was reported to police on September 29. Ross turned himself in on October 1 and was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

His total bond was listed at $6,000, and his arraignment is scheduled for October 22.

Ross has not been convicted, and he is entitled to due process.

Jazzma Kendrick Shares Her Story

The arrest comes shortly after Ross’s former girlfriend, model and real estate professional Jazzma Kendrick, publicly accused him of physically abusing her during their relationship.

Jazzma did not come forward with words alone. She shared photographs and video commentary on social media showing what appeared to be an injured and swollen lip, claiming Rick Ross caused it.

Some people online questioned whether the injury looked severe and whether the posts proved Ross was responsible. However, a photograph cannot tell us who caused an injury, when it happened or everything that may have occurred outside the camera’s view.

The visible injury may have appeared limited to some viewers, but the allegations themselves are not minor. The arrest affidavit includes an allegation that a woman was choked until she could not breathe, which is extremely serious.

Jazzma said she left the relationship following the alleged incident and encouraged other women experiencing abuse to value their lives and leave.

Police have not publicly confirmed whether Jazzma is the woman connected to the current criminal charges. For now, Jazzma has made her claims, Rick Ross is entitled to defend himself and the legal process will have to determine what can actually be proven.

Tia Kemp Has Entered the Chat

Now here comes Tia Kemp with a microphone, a livestream and plenty to say.

Kemp, who shares a son with Ross and has publicly criticized him for years, said she does not believe Jazzma’s allegations. She even suggested that Jazzma may have injured herself.

Tia pointed to her own long and complicated history with Ross as part of the reason she questioned the claims. She made it clear that she was not supporting domestic violence, but she still did not believe Jazzma’s version of events.

Hearing Tia defend Rick had the internet checking the calendar, the temperature and whether Mercury was in retrograde.

Because if you know anything about Tia and Rick, you know these two normally communicate through public arguments, social media videos and verbal smoke signals.

This Is Not Rick Ross’s First Legal Rodeo

Ross also has previous legal history involving allegations of violence, although the previous case was not a domestic violence matter.

In 2015, Ross and his bodyguard were arrested in Georgia after authorities accused them of kidnapping, assaulting and threatening a groundskeeper at Ross’s property.

In 2017, Ross entered a no contest plea to one felony count of aggravated assault. The remaining felony charges were dropped. He also entered no contest pleas to several misdemeanor charges and received five years of probation and a $10,000 fine.

That history does not prove the current allegations, but it is part of the public record and the larger conversation surrounding this case.

Let me be perfectly clear. We are not supporting domestic violence, excusing it or turning an alleged victim’s pain into a punchline.

These allegations are serious, and Jazzma deserves to have her claims treated seriously.

At the same time, Rick Ross deserves the opportunity to respond and defend himself through the legal process.

But baby, the internet has already assembled the jury.

On one side, Jazzma has photographs, video commentary and serious allegations. On another side, Rick Ross is facing criminal charges but has not been convicted.

Then we have Tia Kemp, the woman who has dragged this man from Miami to Fayetteville and back, suddenly stepping forward as a character witness.
