This is such a sad case. Tyler Perry’s nephew Gavin Porter has been serving time in prison for shooting and killing his father back in 2016. Cops say an argument erupted between the two which lead to the shooting. Gavin pled no contest to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in jail. Sources say Gavin was found dead in his cell last night at a prison near St. Helena Parish in Louisiana. Gavin’s immediate family was told over the weekend he had gotten into a fight with another inmate and was placed in solitary confinement. Guards checked on Gavin around 6pm yesterday and he was ok but they checked again at 8 and he had hung himself with a bed sheet. The family has been told there was no foul play, but they are not buying it. Tyler Perry has not commented yet.
